Merchandising Coordinator

The Merchandising Coordinator keeps our brick and mortar retail stores well stocked with unique & fun “geek couture” inventory. They ensure that our retail locations have engaging and impactful merchandise displays and will also create planograms and display guides for new product releases. This role actively looks for products that are good fits for our retail stores from a variety of suppliers and sources. The Merchandise Coordinator proactively makes works with our retail teams so that they are equipped with knowledge about new and upcoming products and how best to market them.

This role will work closely with multiple stakeholders in a matrix environment. Some travel will be required.

Role Objectives

  • Source new and unique items for our retail stores from nontraditional suppliers.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments on the delivery of new releases, restocks to coordinate with promotional plans.
  • Monitor pricing on products and adjust as appropriate to keep inventory turning.
  • Work with Marketing & Retail Management teams to align merchandise purchases with events and promotions.
  • Build best practices & guidelines for static items
  • Build merchandising plans around holidays and special events, as well as monthly promotions.
  • Regularly visit the retail stores to ensure product knowledge and merchandising are upkept.
  • Maintains their section of the catalog & proactively changes reorder points to meet customer demand.
  • Provide training to retail teams on optimal merchandising technique.


  • Possess a solid understanding of both our business and our customers as well as the ability to fully comprehend our organizational strategy.
  • Team player who quickly builds trust and collaborative working relationships across all lines of business.
  • Stays abreast of market and cultural trends so that inventory remains relevant.
  • Familiarity with games and gaming culture.
  • Two to three years of experience working in customer facing retail environments.
  • Strong negotiating and contract management skills.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable with presenting information to all levels within the organization.
  • Able to be equally adept in working with both senior leadership and entry level positions throughout the organization.
  • Understanding of inventory systems and processes.
  • Ability to create an experience within both retail stores and fulfillment center operations.
